Affirmative Action
The Shamong Township School District is an affirmative action employer. The Board declares it to be the policy of this district that each child resident in the district shall be provided an equal opportunity to achieve his/her maximum potential through the programs offered. These policies will be unhindered by discriminatory attitudes or practices based on distinctions of race, color, creed, religion, gender, ancestry, national origin, place of residence, handicap, or social or economic background.

Any person or persons wishing to file a grievance with reference to the district's employment practice or the affirmative action program for school and classroom practices should contact the district Affirmative Action Officer or the NJ State Department of Education, Office of Educational Opportunity, CN 500, Trenton, NJ 08625. Complaints of discrimination on the base of race, color, national origin, gender or disability may also be directed to the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights.
